POEMS AND SONGS WRITTEN FOR THE WEEK OF HOPE
HOPE
Peom by Jane Gillum, July 2003
A Week of Hope; to dispel fear,
Hope for ones who need to hear,
That Jesus died, for their very soul,
Wants to forgive; make them whole.
Open your heart, admit your sin,
That for you, a new life, may begin,
Place your faith in Jesus; and trust:
He is Merciful, Faithful, and Just.
Faith -- assures, and is confident--
That, what's hope for is meant--
To be there, though, we can't see:
What happens, is a certainty.
The Bible tells, what to believe,
Faith is a gift, that you receive.
It's given freely; can't be earned.
For your salvation, He's concerned.
That Jesus Loves you, He has said,
It's in the Bible, and may be read,
He went to Calvary, just for you,
To pay for your sin--all was due.
He covered it by His Precious Blood,
And cleansed your sin, in it's flood,
Forgiven! sin's cast out; East to West,
Remembered no more--O soul, rest!
Place Him on your heart's throne,
He wants your whole self--alone,
Desires to bless; keep you holy; free,
For He's the blessed "Hope" of Glory.
May you yearn, with expectation,
Long for your Lord, in anticipation;
Praise the Day, your Savior, you see,
With thanksgiving; for all Eternity!
To God Be The Glory! Forever! Amen!

A Week of Hope,
And not despair,
God's in our hearts,
He's ev'rywhere.
In this we pray:
"Give us this day,"
To make a Week of Hope,
A Week of Hope.
The sun will set,
The sun will rise.
Upon the cross
My Jesus dies.
In this we pray:
"Give us this day,"
To make a Week of Hope,
A Week of Hope.
A day, a week,
A month, a year,
If we have hope,
We need not fear.
In this we pray:
"Give us this day,"
To make a Week of Hope,
A Week of Hope,
A year of hope, a life of hope,
A Week of Hope.
